It has to be said we’re two very lucky ladies when it comes to reviews for our blog! Back in August we both got to experience the wonderful Tickton Grange over near Beverley in East Yorkshire. (and yes, it really was wonderful!)
Due to our diaries and impending holidays we both went on separate occasions – but both of us experienced top quality service, amazing food and in all a lovely evening away!
What really shone out to us was the attention to detail and the quality of the products used, all with an emphasis on locality and freshness. We loved the Yorkshire Soap toiletries in the bathrooms and the impressive locally sourced menu for our 3 course evening meal! (sadly we didn’t have time to taste the Tickton afternoon teas – but they looked just as good!)
Lets talk food … the dining room had recently been redesigned making you feel comfortable but special at the same time, the service was second to none and the food (oh the food!) was simply amazing! It did come with a slight price tag, but these days quality does cost a bit more and when you know you’re supporting local farmers and producers it makes it all feel that little bit more special!
Without going into too much detail of what we indulged in over the course of the evening (and 5 courses), between us we ate the strip steak, the duck breast and the lobster pot – all of which can only be described as exquisite! We can only imagine what the wedding breakfast menus must consist of!
This country house hotel is constantly rejuvenating itself and becoming a real player for one of Yorkshire’s finest hotels. The bedrooms have all been designed to perfection keeping their historic features nook and crannies and the gardens are very pretty (especially in the summer). They are also starting to host several events with a bit of a twist to draw in the crowds – jazz evenings, summer fetes, murder mystery – they’ve got their thinking caps on so do keep your eyes peeled!
Overall … a lovely experience at Tickton Grange hotel which we would highly recommend for a little retreat or even a vintage inspired wedding!
We’ll be back soon with more pre-loved inspiration and humbling stories! Alex and Sam x
(and of course Gina)
