This Sunday sees our first ever vintage festival, something we have been wanting to do for over a year but these things take time, what with finding the perfect venue down to having the staff to help. Fortunately over the last six months everything has slowly come together and we are a ready to go go go!
So, what should you expect? Not wanting to deviate too far from the ethos of our usual vintage fairs we have something for all ages. If it’s classic cars you like we have teamed up with ‘North of England Classic and Pre War Automobiles‘ (NECPWA) to put on a stunning display of between 150-200 beauties. Love a cocktail? Then join us at our vintage bar (ours is a Manhattan if you’re offering!!!). If you’re bringing the kids then we have ample games and activities for them to enjoy, including a bouncy castle (ok granted this may not be so vintage but we know only too well that the little angels need entertaining). Or if it’s simply an enjoyable day out you’re after we’ve got 4 live musicians playing around the gardens; an afternoon tea tent serving all things glorious, vintage food vans and not to mention some wonderful vintage stalls to truly immerse yourself in (we certainly will be!).
So, the price for this we hear you ask? Forget the overpriced festival tickets – we at Britain Does Vintage appreciate that everyone is looking for a bargain these days – and that is exactly what we’re giving you! £6 adults, £4 children and if it’s a family ticket you’re after this will set you back a mere £16. BUT, if you fancy your chances at winning some tickets we have a super competition for this week only!
For your chance to win:
A family ticket (2 to give away)
A ticket for 4 adults (1 to give away)
Tickets for 2 adults and afternoon tea (1 to give away)
Simply email us your answer to ‘Your perfect vintage day out’ along with which prize you would like to win (please choose only 1) and we’ll be in touch on friday if you are our winners! Not only this, but on the day we also have an: amateur photography competition, best dressed competition and best classic car competition, get in touch for more details.
Before we love you and leave you though, here’s a little more information on the fab Scampston Hall which may whet your appetite for Sunday further! We just love this venue and hope you do to!
Scampston Hall is one of the finest regency country house stately homes in North Yorkshire, and contains many fine works of art, furniture and porcelain. It was built firstly in the 1700s and remodelled since. It’s not only the stunning house which is popular amongst visitors. The highly acclaimed-award winning Scampston Walled Gardens are also a crowd pleaser! (In fact they are by far one of the best in North Yorkshire!) The gardens were designed by the renowned Dutch plantsman – Piet Oudolf.
We very much look forward to seeing you on Sunday for the perfect vintage day out!
We’ll be back soon with more pre-loved inspiration and humbling stories! Alex and Sam x
